The Nutrient Plan feature in BudSites helps you dial in the exact nutrients your plants need at each stage of growth. It gives you complete control over your feed schedule, from veg to flower to flush. When you plan your nutrients ahead of time, you reduce mistakes, avoid lockouts, and maximize yield and potency. This article walks you through how to set up a complete nutrient plan, use it during your grow, and take advantage of the built-in calculator for precision dosing.
BudSites breaks down the nutrient planning process into three straightforward steps: Plan Details, Nutrients, and Schedule. Each step builds on the last. First, you define how long your grow will stay in veg, flower, and flush. Then, you add the nutrients you plan to use. Finally, you assign specific feeding amounts to each week. When you finish the plan, you can either use it directly or attach it to a grow so it syncs automatically with your grow’s stage.
Start by giving your plan a name and a short description. Next, enter the duration for each grow phase: veg, flower, and flush. These values are in weeks. If you're running different strains or techniques, consider creating separate plans for each. Your timing will vary depending on factors like plant count, training method, or even pot size. BudSites gives you the flexibility to tailor each plan to your specific setup.
After setting your phase durations, head over to the Nutrients screen. Add each product you’ll use in your grow. Add nutrients in the order you will mix them. The display order allows you to mirror your real-world process and avoid confusion later. If you use the same product in multiple stages, add it once and assign it across the phases. Keeping your nutrient list clean and organized makes the schedule step much easier.
Now comes the core of the plan: your week-by-week nutrient schedule. Start by selecting a stage and then move the slider to choose the week. Click a nutrient to enter the amount. Then, select the unit, such as ml, tsp, g, and other units. After the slash, you’ll see a second input for volume. This defines your ratio, such as 1 mL per 1 L or 2 g per gallon.
BudSites will carry your input forward to the following weeks unless you change it. That means you only need to update the weeks when a dose changes. If you use a nutrient for just one week, delete the values from the next week, and it will delete the remaining values. This approach speeds up the process and ensures your schedule stays accurate. When you're finished editing all the nutrients across your schedule, click complete.
Once you’ve built your plan, you can use it on its own or link it to an active grow. When you attach it to a grow, BudSites automatically shows you the current week and phase. You don’t have to guess where you are in the plan. It stays synced with your grow timeline. Attaching nutrient plans helps you stay on track and ensures your feedings match your plant’s needs without extra work.
To use the calculator, click on the phase, reservoir size, or week field in your nutrient plan. This opens the Nutrient Calculator. From there, enter your reservoir size and preferred units to get precise nutrient measurements. The calculator will display exactly how much of each nutrient to use based on your weekly schedule. You can even convert units if you’re switching between metric and imperial, perfect for dialing in large reservoirs or making sure your measurements are accurate.
Using the Nutrient Plan helps you feed your plants with confidence. You create a repeatable system that works across grows. You save time each week by following a plan that’s already built. You reduce mistakes by keeping your measurements consistent. And you increase your chances of hitting your yield and potency goals by staying in sync with what your plants need.
